Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday introduced a new digital network that will unite every aspect of the comedian and talk show host's brand, along with new original programming and user-generated content.
Ms. DeGeneres announced the ad-supported venture at her first NewFront event on Wednesday evening.
Ellen Digital Network, a partnership with Warner Bros. TV Group, will combine properties including Ellentube, her YouTube page, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" website, social media following and digital game "Heads Up!" on one platform.
Social media star Tyler Oakley will collaborate with Ms. DeGeneres on a range of original digital projects with an aim toward developing projects for TV as well.
Ellen Digital Network's inaugural slate will also include a Snapchat series featuring the internet phenomenon "Damn, Daniel"; "Ellen's Pet Dish," an animated series from Warner Bros. digital production studio featuring Ms. DeGeneres' pets; a show starring 4-year-old viral sensation Brielle Milla; "#MadeByYou," featuring the best user-generated content from Ellentube; and "Epic or Fail," a popular game on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
Ms. DeGeneres started Ellentube in October 2014 as a digital hub for clips from her daytime talk show as well as user-generated content. Ellentube premiered its first original series last month, "tWitch & Allison's Dance Challenge," which stars Stephen Boss, the D.J. on the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and his wife Allison Holker of "Dancing With the Stars," as they mentor child dancers.
