Despite his achievements working with production teams, including his Emmy-winning work on the reality show “Undercover Boss,” Ian Clark never truly found his calling until he pivoted into media planning. With an unorthodox background in entertainment, Clark brought a fresh perspective to the industry when he joined Exverus Media in 2018.
Ian Clark’s unconventional background drives major growth for brands
In 2021, Clark was promoted to associate director, paving the way for great success for clients and Exverus Media itself, which experienced 35% growth in revenue in the past year.
Now leading several of the agency’s most important accounts, Clark has worked on several campaigns for MasterClass, leading to a record year for the online instructional brand. MasterClass saw a 60% lift in consumer visits after Clark’s team helped launch a class with Metallica, having placed advertisements around concert venues.
From educating millions to helping save the environment, Clark has also implemented strategies for clients including retailer 4ocean, which brings awareness to ocean pollution. Clark and his team used TV and audio channels to grab consumers' attention. Within three months, 4ocean exceeded its revenue goals.
These campaigns and others, including for medical marijuana brand Parallel and hydration, energy and protein products maker Honey Stinger, contributed to Clark's most successful year to date—and earned him the inaugural Ad Age Small Agency Media Planner of the Year award.
