MCI leads Super Bowl ad rush

MCI Communications Corp. will launch a new slogan, "Shop Naked," for its 1-800-MUSIC-NOW service. MCI has hired a plane to run a 5-hour fly-by over Sun Devil stadium in Phoenix on Super Bowl Sunday. MCI on Monday will launch a radio campaign in the country's top 10 markets to promote Music Now, an interactive service allowing consumers to sample and buy music online or over the phone.

GTE Corp. will distribute GTE Super Bowl seat cushions to 76,000 fans at Super Bowl XXX in Sun Devil stadium.

Ameritech will launch a regional corporate campaign from Fallon McElligott, Minneapolis.

NFL stars Steve Young, Howie Long and Rashaam Salaam will join QVC hosts this Saturday during "NFL Team Shop," broadcast live from the interactive theme park adjacent to Sun Devil Stadium. Viewers can purchase Super Bowl XXX merchandise including apparel, throws, jackets and autographed memorabilia.

Visa U.S.A. said its first advertising tied to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta will break during the Super Bowl telecast. Two humorous 30-second spots star Hakeem Olajuwon and Scottie Pippen, Olympic basketball "Dream Team" members who manage to avert a loss to a rival international team, thanks to Visa Gold.
