Kia's Hamsters Are Back and Teaching Robots to Dance
Kia's popular hamsters are back in a new campaign, "Share Some Soul," this time kicking it to the beats of LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" in a post-apocalyptic world where the invading robots start to copy their dance moves. The hamsters then drive into the horizon in their green 2012 Kia Soul. The video launched during the MTV Video Music Awards and debuted in second place on this week's chart with 1.3 million views.
Debuting on the chart in first place with 2.1 million views is Kohl's "Just Another Day at the Office for Jennifer Lopez," starring J. Lo herself, baffled and incredulous when a security guard refuses to let her into a stand-in for Kohl's corporate headquarters without a photo ID, even after she sings him a few lines from "Jenny From the Block." She's promoting her Jennifer Lopez Collection for the store, and the video has gotten some traction from paid promotion and news of her impending divorce from Marc Anthony (who's launching a companion clothing line for Kohl's).
Also new to the chart at No. 3 is a Sony video where a fictional former VP of PlayStation, Kevin Butler , returns after a hiatus. In conjunction with the launch, Sony announced a PS3 price drop to $249. At No. 4 is a spot for Westfield, the shopping center in Stratford, London, showing a mash-up of 100 years of fashion. At No. 6 is a new campaign for Heineken, and at No. 9 is a spot for Burger King, starring Brazilian UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, lip-synching to Minnie Riperton's "Lovin' You."
