Seems Pepsi MAX's "Uncle Drew" has still got game.
Taking fourth place on the Viral Video Chart this week is the soda brand's third installment of the character's, created and performed by Cleveland Cavalier's star Kyrie Irving. This time, the trash-talking, quick-dribbling Uncle Drew – played by NBA point guard Irving – brings old pal Lights (Nate Robinson) along for another round of hoops as he tries "to put the team back together."
Another elderly friend, Betty Lou, is on the lookout as she attempts to keep her boys out of trouble. As in previous videos for this campaign, a good game revives the old men's youthful skills and baffles the watching masses. Mr. Irving's companions are revealed in the behind-the-scenes footage featured at the end of the video.
With 4.2 million views, Pepsi Max is not the only brand to bring back a popular person or character. Samsung's latest spot featuring NBA star LeBron James finds itself at the top of the chart with more than 9.9 million views. Kia's hamsters and their new sleek look premiere on at No. 2 the chart with 5.3 million views and Rovio slips a couple of spots to No. 9 with 1.6 million views for "Angry Birds Star Wars 2."
