Cranking the Casino Freak Switch

Mohegan Sun's dullish slogan is "A world at play," but its new TV campaign, directed by Rocky Morton, is a world gone weird, and we mean that in a good way. In four seemingly one-take spots, ordinary people are seen doing various fun Mohegan things as they suddenly step into spotlights to soliloquize to the camera about the great things they're doing for themselves. The man-breasted guy with the seaweed wrap-he looks like the Hulk's out-of-shape cousin-is oddly arresting. So is the slots-crazy female nebbish who utters the priceless line, "Let's crank the freak switch to 11 and get it on."
