NEW YORK ( -- The technology for placing ads in mobile phone applications is advancing at breakneck speed and getting ever more elegant. At the recent Apps for Brand conference hosted by Ad Age and Appolicious, Yahoo's Adam Taggart demonstrated the new Subway and Toyota ads running in the company's new Fantasy Football app for the iPhone.

According to a Fantasy Football Association study, 14 million people played some form of fantasy football last year. Two thirds of them were over 35. One third of them were women. And more than half of them earned $75,000 a year.
