Getting Animated Over Obama's Dog

'Channel Frederator' Dives Into Animation Niche

By Published on .

It's a plum post for any pooch. After all, what dog wouldn't want to whiz on the White House lawn? As the nation is gripped with First Puppy fever, a small brown mutt begs "pick me, pick me" in this animated video from Next New Network's "Channel Frederator." The video was produced by Fred Seibert, a Next New Networks co-founder, while children's book author Alan Katz wrote the lyrics and independent filmmaker Ben Ross animated the video. Mr. Ross is best known for his animated "Animal Idol" video for Next New Network's "Ultra Kawaii" network, an outing that drew more than 2 million views. The first pooch video posted Nov. 17 and had racked up 85,000 views in its first 48 hours. Channel Frederator is one of the original networks launched by Web studio Next New Networks and bills itself as the home for original online cartoons. FEATURED VIDEO
