The U.S. District Court of Massachusetts said Limelight Networks, a digital distribution service, is guilty of copyright infringement on one of Akamai’s copyrights and must pay $45.5 million in damages, GigaOm
says. Limelight says it will appeal the decision. The video-serving giant Akamai plans on asking the court for an injunction to prohibit Limelight from further profiting from copyrighted services. The Courts decision comes at the end of a three-week trial.
