Sears, Roebuck & Co. stock plunged to a 52-week low in heavy trading late last week. On Thursday, the big retailer reported stagnant August same-store sales and lower profit forecasts for the third quarter and full year. Despite a new ad campaign to break after Labor Day, Sears did not predict an early sales turnaround.
