Stunning Oscars Ad and Creative Contest Mark Adobe Photoshop's 25th Anniversary
Spot Pays Homage to Creatives in Filmmaking
Feb 23, 2015
Adobe Photoshop recently turned 25, and to celebrate, it has debuted a campaign showing how the program has touched virtually everything creative we encounter in our day-to-day lives. As part of the effort, the brand released this gorgeous Academy Awards ad. Featuring Aerosmith's "Dream On" as its soundtrack, the spot shows how the work of various artists became part of major motion pictures, including "Gone Girl," "Avatar," "Shrek" and "How to Train Your Dragon 2.
The anniversary campaign also includes a contest celebrating the 25 most creative visual artists under 25 who use Photoshop. To enter, creatives must upload projects to portfolio site Behance, with the tag "Ps25Under25." Over the next few months, those selected will take over Photoshop's newly launched Instagram @Photoshop to present their work to the world. The first artist to showcase will be 24-year-old Mexican-American artist and illustrator Fredy Santiago, whose work you can see on Photoshop's Instagram now.
