Zach Braff turned a fake movie poster into a real movie starring Florence Pugh
Short film is culmination of Adobe Creative Cloud campaign from Pereira O'Dell

Last fall, Adobe and agency Pereira O’Dell invited young creators to come up with a movie poster--for a film that hadn’t even been made yet. For the “Movie Poster Movie Contest,” they were free to conceive the poster for whatever genre they desired, and ultimately, the winner would serve as inspiration for a real short film, to be directed and written by Zach Braff, perhaps best known for his nine-year run as the star of “Scrubs,” but ialso an accomplished director. (He wrote, directed and starred in “Garden State” and has also helmed spots for Dunkin’ Donuts as well as music videos for Josua Radin and Gavin DeGraw).
This week, Adobe announced the winner of the contest, Boston University student Sam West. Her idea, featuring simple objects like an apple, pencil and paper in hand-drawn style, promoted the imaginary film “In The Time It Takes to Get There” and was selected from more than 1,100 submissions.
Braff ran with that to create a short film about influencers in the 19th century, starring Florence Pugh, Alicia Silverstone and Andy King. The short is Braff’s first work out of production company RSA, whose roster he joined last month.
