An airport wait gets a holiday twist in Christmas ad from Heathrow
First work from St. Luke's puts a sentimental spin on the London hub

London's Heathrow Airport has had a tumultuous 2022 so far as it attempts to bounce back from the pandemic, hit by flight cancelations, crowds and luggage delays. It will be an uphill task to rehabilitate its image, but new creative agency St Luke's, appointed in August, is making a start with a heartwarming holiday ad.
In the spot, we see a middle-aged couple heading off on their first holiday without the kids. You can see the woman is missing them dreadfully, despite her partner's attempts to cheer her up with airport shopping, champagne and dining. Then, he tells her he has a surprise -- maybe you can guess what's coming, but still it might make you well up.
The spot, directed by Cannes Glass Lion winner Molly Burdett, is designed to showcase the vast range of retail brands and restaurants available at the airport. It's a charming story ---although, anyone who's been through Heathrow recently may be skeptical of the couple's calm and peaceful experience.
The spot is running video-on-demand, cinemas and online, as well as out-of-home and social media, and will also be screened at the Winter Wonderland fair in London's Hyde Park and Canary Wharf ice rink.
