Many advertisers have been trying to reflect America, and the world, for what it is: a hodge podge of races and personalities, each unique, each with their own foibles. Walmart jumps on the "inclusiveness" bandwagon with "American Made," a spot by Saatchi New York that documents the story of Patrick, a young man with a learning disability who has, despite his condition, never given up. He has played sports, participated however he wanted to, forced himself to get up and walk when his condition made it almost impossible -- and when he wanted a job, went out and gotten it. The spot aims to underscore Walmart's commitment to hiring Americans. It was directed by Phillip Montgomery at Anonymous.
