Even though the U.K. government looks set to reduce its "two meter rule" down to one meter, social distancing is still very much advised at present.
With this in mind, agency AMV BBDO worked with a selection of artists on "Distance Couture," a range of t-shirts with slogans designed to make people keep their distance from you in the park or supermarket aisles.
Slogans include “Super spreader,” and “Let me sell you some MIRACLE BLEACH CURE,” and “Let me tell you how amazing my kids are!” There are also tees for the person that wants to tell about their star sign, dreams, wellness and sourdough starter, and, less nuanced, the one that simply says "I smell."
Artists include Katy Edelsten, Animationseries2000, Daniel Fishel, Leyla Reynolds and Leo Leigh, represented by Somesuch, and Simon Landrein, Michaela Pichi, Marco Oggian, Dave Anderson, Paul Bower, who are all represented by Pocko, as well as some of AMV BBDO's own creatives: Lauren Peters, Augustine Cerf, Vanessa Robinson, Tim Riley, Prabs Wignarajah and Nick Hulley.
The first batch of shirts will be available for pre-order on Print Social for the next 20 days, with the next drop debuting in 10 days. All profits go straight to the NHS, via NHS Charities Together.
“If these won’t keep people at bay, we don’t know what will. It’s basically PPE for civilians,” say Lauren Peters and Augustine Cerf, creatives at AMV BBDO, and the brains behind Distance Couture.
