If you're looking for freelance creative talent in Asia, a new resource is here to help.
Anak, the Singapore-based design and branding arm of The Secret Little Agency (part of the Mother agency group) has developed an "Asian Creators Index" that promises to showcase the best of Asian creative talent.
Built off a decade’s worth of regional collaboration and searching by Anak, the Index is a live document that will be regularly updated to include both established and new, breakthrough talent. It currently features just under 400 creators, compiled over many years by Anak’s lead art buyer, Juliana Ong. They include collaborators across different disciplines including paper crafts, bamboo sculpture artists, painters, animators, 3D artists, set and sound designers. The Index is broken down into searchable creative categories to maximize findability and ease-of-use.
As well as the site itself, there is an Instagram feed sharing news and highlighting particular creators.
"Some of the world’s best creative talents are here in Asia," said Ong, in a statement. "The problem is that they’re not always easy to find outside of their own locales, and a lot of them might not spend much time on getting found either. We felt it important to expose these great talents to the rest of the world, through eyes that know and understand the nuances of the different cultures—something that we’ve been fortunate to amass through our decades of work. And we wanted to do it in a way that evolves from the outdated stereotype of the agency 'little black book’ or ‘best-kept secret.'”
"It’s like an encyclopedia of creativity,” added Tina Fung, co-founder of Space Objekt and artist featured in the Asian Creators Index.
