Two Audis go 'synchronized swimming' in the brand's compact car ad
Johnny Hardstaff directs fun spot by BBH

Two Audi cars dance gracefully--in the water--in the brand's latest U.K. campaign.
A fun new ad sees a pair of the brand's entry-level vehicles perform a "synchronized swim" in a pool seemingly intended for humans. The cars--the A1 and A7 models-- mirror each other's movements to the sound of "Follow You, Follow Me," by Genesis, in a new cover arranged by Faultline and featuring the singer-songwriter Rina Oshunga.
Created by BBH London and directed by Johnny Hardstaff at Independent, the work is designed to highlight that Audi small cars are "serious bits of kit packed with just as much technology and attitude as the bigger models," says the agency. To pull of the shoot, the agency and production team built a specially-designed pool in the Ukraine especially for the shoot.
The campaign is running online and in cinemas as well as on TV.
Ian Heartfield, Chief Creative Officer of BBH London, says, “There is no greater example of two entities matching each other’s moves perfectly than a pair of synchronised swimmers. Swapping two people for an A7 & an A1 seemed like a compelling way to make the point that Audi DNA runs through the whole model range.”
