BBDO NY created this video to promote BanBossy, the public service initiative launched today by Sheryl Sandberg's LeanIn.Org together with Girl Scouts of the USA. Its aim is to encouraging leadership and achievement in girls, drawing attention to the ways girls and women are discouraged from leading for fear of being branded "bossy." The website encourages women to pledge via social media to "ban bossy" while the film shows little girls talking about their ambitions and how they often end up being curbed, before going on to pledge to "change their story."
