In an election-themed stunt, solar power company Beamer Solar capitalized on support for Donald Trump's controversial "wall" proposal to persuade some U.S. Republicans to promote solar panels.
Agency Arnold Worldwide handed out t-shirts at the Republican National Convention with the slogan "Build a wall." What they didn't know was that below that, in sunlight-activated ink, were the words "of solar panels on your house."
According to agency, and borne out in this video, many of the Trump supporters surprisingly got on board with the solar power message -- despite Trump's own well-documented views on climate change. Justin Galvin, creative director, Arnold Worldwide, said in a statement: "Our country's political views have never been more polarizing. We wanted to use an obviously divisive platform to start a different conversation. We honestly thought the reactions were going to be much different."
