Coke Creates 'Bio Cooler,' a Fridge That Doesn't Need Electricity
Fridge Cools Air Using Water Evaporation
Editor's Pick
There's nothing better than a cold drink on a hot day. That, unfortunately, isn't possible for many places around the world, which live in hot conditions, often without power. Leo Burnett Bogota worked with Coke to solve the problem. Enter "Bio Cooler," a refrigerator that was developed together with the International Physics Center. Based on design ideas that cool the air via water evaporation, the cooler taps onto sun heat to harness power. It can store three types of cannes beverages. Of course, selling a way to keep Coke cans cool to masses of thirsty people seems a little callous -- but if this project goes wide, it might be a way for them to also store water and other, healthier beverages.
