Directorial duo The Mercadantes (who were signed to Park Pictures last month) created this clever three-minute film about breathing -- and it will really make you think about a bodily function that most of us just take for granted. From gasps of frustration, to belches, sighs, guzzling soda and playing musical instruments, to dramatic scenes of terror, birth and sex, and finally to nature, it's made up of scenes that capture our life force in incredible ways.

The film, directed by Daniel Mercadante and exec produced by Katina Mercadante, took a year to make, and is one of a series of studies the two are making on "Observation" (an upcoming project is on "Colors"). Their past creations have included commercial work for Netflix, Apple, Volkswagen, Levi's and Chevrolet. Daniel Mercadante also co-directed the Prudential campaign "Day One Stories," which earned a Gold Lion at the Cannes Lions festival in 2012 and was featured on TED Ads Worth Spreading.
