Bublcam is being touted as the world's first consumer- accessible 360 degree camera. A light (under 300g) portable device, with a cool design, it can take spherical photos and videos and its developers say it will be suitable for family and personal use as well as for professionals, priced at $700-$800. It went live on Kickstarter this week, and has already surpasses its initial funding goal of $100,000. The company's partners include Canadian digital media firm Jam3, whose technical director Mark McQuillian is also the chief technical officer of Bublcam and was instrumental in designing the device.

Bublcam can capture 14 mega pixel spherical photos and videos at 1080p at 15 fps and 720p at 30fps. Users can look up, down and all around in any direction, share across social media and use Wi-Fi to stream directly to PC, mobile devices and via the web.
