Budweiser is dipping its toe into branded content with a documentary that takes a real-life look at its brewing process.
Created by Ace Content, a sister company to Budweiser agency Anomaly, the film is called "Kings of Beer" and centers on a group of elite brewmasters from 65 breweries and 23 countries, following them as they battle it out in an intense competition to brew the best American Lager. It also features cameos from beer aficionados Aisha Tyler, Jay Chandrasekhar and Michael Voltaggio.
Producer Justin V. Barocas, CEO of Ace Content, says: "Kings of Beer is a story about regular people from all over the world who dreamed of becoming brewmasters and who share an uncompromising ambition to be the best at their craft. We found their stories to be incredibly inspiring and we think that anyone who wants to be the best at what they do will love these characters too.”
As well as being available online via iTunes, the film, directed by Sean Mullin, is being shown in select theaters in the U.S. and Canada. Let's hop there are enough brewing aficionados out there who will go see it.
