Coke's latest TV work in its ongoing "Open Happiness" campaign is a charming US spot from W+K Portland which aims simply to celebrate "meaningful moments" in people's lives at which Coke is a bystander. As a a red ballon floats up past the windows of an apartment building, we see its various inhabitants all going about their daily lives and having good times with their families. The soundtrack is by Austin-based singer Wendy Colonna, featuring in her first commercial; her music has also been selected to be played in Starbucks outlets across the US. Directed by Smith & Foulkes, the work was commissioned by Coke's outgoing marketer, senior VP integrated marketing communication and design excellence Jonathan Mildenhall, who is moving to Airbnb.
