Burger King's efforts to troll rival McDonald's have been endlessly creative in recent years, whether it's offering customers one-cent Whoppers when they're near a McDonald's or teasing its rival over its association with clowns. The latest effort, from Denmark, highlights customer service by replying to McDonald's customer complaints on the brand's Facebook page.

The effort, via agency Uncle Grey, saw Burger King write personal replies to over a thousand customers who had left customer service-related comments on the McDonald's Facebook page over the course of last Thursday night (Sept. 24). For each of them, the brand gave away a voucher for a flame-grilled Whooper, through a link provided in a BK reply.

The stunt is designed to highlight the fact that Burger King Denmark now promises that everyone gets an answer within 48 hours on their own Facebook page. It also says it will answer anyone as far back in time as Facebook allows.

“Customer service is a big part of the entire guest experience and we haven’t been doing a good enough job in taking care of our guests online. When addressing this we realized there are even more burger fans out there that deserve a reply. We did what we can to help out, hoping some flame grilled Whopper love can help make things better again,” says Daniel Schröder, Marketing Director, Burger King Sweden and Denmark, in a statement.
