Burger King's Olympics push reacts to medal-biting athletes

Social campaign from Buzzman offers free Whoppers if you screenshot an image

This might be the silliest Olympics-related campaign we’ve seen so far. Having noticed the propensity for athletes to bite their medals, Burger King Belgium and agency Buzzman found a way to link it to the Whopper.

A social push is encouraging Belgians to post a an image of an athlete biting a medal in order to win a free Whopper. All they have to do is screenshot the moment as soon as they see it live, post it on Burger King’s social platforms along with the hashtag #WishItWasaWhopper and the first 100 people to respond will be contacted to receive a free Whopper. 

Burger King says the athletes will “envy you” for getting a free Whopper, despite their medal glory. We’re not quite so sure...although maybe the 8,000-calorie-a-day-eating swimmers would appreciate it.
