Devo's Mothersbaugh Tells His Story of Blindness, Art and Inspiration in Delightful Animation for Google Play
Film Is Latest in a Series Linked to Pop-Up's California Sunday
Editor's Pick
Google Play and BBH L.A. recently linked up with Pop-Up Magazine's California Sunday to make "California Inspires Me," series of beautifully-animated films examining how the state of California has shaped the careers of successful artists. The February issue features Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh, who talks about growing up legally blind, discovering art and then music after seeing The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, and forming his band following the shootings at Kent State University. Madrid-based directing duo Manson is responsible for the awesome animation.
Other films in the series have featured actor Jack Black, who talks about growing up in a surfer culture in Southern California; director and artist Mike Mills; and singer-songwriter Thao Nguyen.
