Exoskeletons, smart weapons and camouflage redefined. And what if a hacker breaks into the U.S. war systems? Such is the gear and intelligence that could play a role in the war of the future, as explained in this two-minute documentary starring real-life war experts Ollie North and P.W. Singer that seems pulled straight from the History Channel. But, it turns out, it's not part of the channel's lineup. Rather, it's a clever plug for Activision's upcoming Call of Duty game, Black Ops II.

The faux-reality angle is a clever continuation of the approach in the game's previous teaser, which tapped a real firearms blogger to test out a weapon from the game. It's brilliant--and scary--because it's completely plausible. While the war of the future is the central focus of the upcoming game, which takes place in 2025, the scenarios conceivably could become reality in the next decade or two.

Amir Bar-Lev of RSA directs, while the work is cut by Dan Swietlik, who is an old hand in the documentary world.
