Watch Prince Harry recite heartfelt poetry in this ad for the 2018 Invictus Games
Stirring spot promotes next Games taking place in Sydney in October
Editor's Pick
If you didn't get your fill of Prince Harry at the Royal Wedding, you can hear him speaking heartfelt words again in a a stirring ad for the Invictus Games 2018, which take place in Sydney this October.
The Prince is one of several people to recite a line from the poem "Invictus," written in 1875 by William Ernest Henley, as they go about their daily lives. The cast also includes Invictus Games Sydney 2018 competitor Jamie Tanner in action at wheelchair rugby training as well as other competitors and veteran's widow Gwen Cherne and her daughter in an emotional moment.
Prince Harry appears towards the end of the poem, reciting the line "I am the captain of my soul." Although he's appeared in promotional videos for the Invictus Games in the past, the new video is less documentary-like and more of an emotive spot for the Games; a link to the film was also posted on Twitter by Kensington Palace's account, together with the line he speaks in the film. Could this be Meghan Markle's influence, we wonder?
The film was created by Sydney agency Edge and produced in collaboration with 2 Feet Films.
