He's still running for President, and now Captain Obvious has done the obvious thing for a presidential candidate -- he's kissing babies.
The latest addition to Hotels.com's political campaign featuring the character is an interactive element allowing parents to hold their baby next to the screen for a kiss from Captain Obvious. He has no idea (he says) why this is a tradition, but it saves him time when campaigning -- just like Hotels.com.
According to agency CP&B, which announced the Captain's presidential bid in Feburary, his political antics have already resulted in 60 million views of Captain Obvious .GIFs, more than 250,000 visits to his presidential website and a 900% increase in social media mentions. Many Twitter users have also pledged to vote for him with the hashtag #ObviousPresident -- and in this particular election year, there's a chance they may not be joking.
