Geico continues to demonstrate that the simplest ideas are sometimes the best in the latest ad from The Martin Agency in its "It's Not Surprising" series.

The new spot features a Buckingham Palace guard who comes on shift one morning to take over from his typically formal colleague. Scruffily clad in a bathrobe, beach shorts and flip flops, he slumps on a chair eating breakfast and reading the paper, before falling asleep noisily. At the end of the online version of the video, he encourages viewers who have "got some spare time on the job" to click for more funny Geico videos.

Directed by Steve Miller at Radical Media, the spot makes a funny addition to a collection that has included the recent "Triangle" and Bulldog Stampede ads.
