Miami Art Basel : A Charge for Privacy

Charge but beware.

Editor's Pick

Banger Briz documents its installation at the 2011 Miami Art Basel, a piece that tries to remind everyone that nothing is "free," especially not online services like email or social networks. Basel goers were invited to charge their cellphones at a charging station, but had to agree to the Terms of Use. When an iPhone is plugged into the station, the station downloads all the photos stored on the phone and you grant Branger Brize a fully-loaded license to use the pics. The second the photos are downloaded, the station immediately projects them as a public digital-graffiti installation.
