During the Professional Men’s Basketball Championship Finals, Chipotle came to Day One Agency with the challenge to tap into the cultural conversation and get people talking about Chipotle. Since Chipotle was not an official sponsor, names, players, colors and even mentions of the league were off limits. So we had to get creative. Together Day One and Chipotle created a drinking-game style Twitter campaign. Every time the announcers said the word “Free” as in Free Throw, we tweeted a code for free burritos. The campaign earned widespread buzz and helped Chipotle break into an important summer cultural moment.
