Raccoons in your kitchen are fine once you've had your Coffee Mate in brand's comedic campaign
Spots from McCann Canada suggests a dash of the Nestle product can improve anything
Editor's Pick
Mornings can be tough going (even if you're working from home), and many of us surely recognize that feeling that you can't function until you've imbibed at least one cup of coffee. But could a good cup of coffee improve even a disaster of a morning?
That's the premise of a new comedic campaign for Coffee Mate from Nestle Canada, which imagines exaggeratedly disastrous morning situations made, well, less disastrous by a coffee with a dash of the product.
In one spot, an exhausted-looking couple survey their kitchen, which has been invaded by a pack of raccoons overnight. As the raccoons lick plates in the dishwasher, destroy the freezer and bathe in the basin, they calmly drink their coffee with Coffee Mate, the woman only commenting: "We gotta remember to keep that window closed."
In a second spot, another couple look dismissively at the massive sinkhole that has appeared in their kitchen, only remarking "that's big" as they contentedly drink their beverage. "There's no cup of coffee that can save this morning," says the voiceover. "But a rich and creamy cup of coffee with Coffee Mate might."
The ads, directed by James Haworth at Circle Productions for McCann Canada, are running across Canadian broadcast, social and YouTube.
