The Ad Council and Adopt US Kids have created a series of new PSAs in their campaign, first begun in 2004 to encourage adoption of kids in foster care. Last year, the campaign introduced the message "you don't have to be perfect to be a parent" and promoted the adoption of 8-12 year old kids. This year, emphasis is placed on recruiting families for 14 to 16 year olds and the spots - featuring a Dad's adventures in baking, Mom embarrassing the neighbors and another parent whose kids remember the last time he tried something daring - were once again created pro bono by Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners. This year, the TV ads will also be joined by a social media element, including a yet-to-be launched Tumblr site named "Oh Parents" on which people can share their parenting mishaps. They can also share them on AdoptUS Kids' Facebook page and Twitter feed.
