Scenes from 2016 movie hits "The Jungle Book," "The Revenant," "Deadpool" and "Zootropolis" (the U.K.'s re-named "Zootopia") appear from behind the doors of an Advent calendar thanks to some clever VFX in the holiday spot from Sky Cinema (which recently rebranded from Sky Movies in the U.K.).

The spot, by WCRS, highlights the fact that customers can watch a new movie premiere every day on Sky Cinema, throughout the festive period. It was directed by Noah Harris at Blinkink, while Nineteentwenty created by VFX for the the Advent calendar, with specially created scenes using both hand-drawn and CGI animations, as well as combining new and existing footage from filmmakers.

Ludo Fealy, co-founder and VFX supervisor at Nineteentwenty, commented in a statement: "This was a great project to be a part of, but like all good briefs this one presented some unique challenges. One long camera move is tricky in any form, but one that must seamlessly link between cameras and lenses from different movies brought a much bigger challenge. The fact that it all takes place in a fully CG environment is great, as it provides much more freedom."
