Another innovative anti-distracted driving campaign comes out of Europe. While Europcar Sweden thought to help drivers focus with an unusual soundtrack, the German Road Safety Council (DVR) took a more shocking approach, with the help of agency Jung von Matt Hamburg.

The agency used the car's sound system to stage the first "live car accident" over a radio program. The spot was slipped into a regular radio show. What seemed like an ordinary call in to the show quickly gave way to something startling. The caller spoke with a show host when it became apparent he was in the middle of texting. Backed by the commonplace sounds of traffic, he was interrupted by screeching tires before dropping off altogether, leaving no room for doubt as to what may have happened.
