Interactive Ontario, formerly the New Media Business Alliance, is a not-for-profit trade organization "committed to the growth of the Ontario interactive digital content industry," explains veteran Canadian designer Louis Fishauf. "To this end, 'io' is an industry advocate within Ontario and across Canada, representing almost 150 interactive digital media companies." The organization's name change and the new identity were unveiled last month at the annual ICE (Interactive Content Exchange) conference in Toronto. The new design, says Fishauf, "plays off the similarity between the letters 'i' and 'o' and the ones and zeros of binary code." In some iterations of the logo, in fact, "Ontario" is spelled out in binary, with "io" highlighted. See Fishauf.com and InteractiveOntario.com for more.
