Swedish electronics retailer Pause has been trying to get an edge on the competition by proving that it really is offering discounts, and not just hyped, Black Friday-style reductions that turn out to be meaningless.

Through agency Akestam Holst, Pause sent actual money to its customers, using mobile money transfer app Swish, which is used widely in Sweden. So customers could buy the product knowing that they already had the 10 per cent deal, for example, in their pocket.

Pause claims it developed the system because it's fed up with other retailers bringing the industry into disrepute, by boosting their prices and then lowering them to claim they're having a sale. Check out the project website to find out more.
