Nine celebrated African-American poets, including Dr. Maya Angelou, take center stage in "Dream In Color," a website created by Target and agency Olson in honor of February's Black History Month. Scattered across the top of a virtual desk are various resources designed to encourage students to learn more about the legacy of African-American writing, from a video interview with Dr. Angelou herself to a notebook filled with activities and lesson plans for parents and teachers. And those aspiring poets who hear their own muses calling can try their hands at PoetryPlay, an interactive poem-creating tool that uses words taken directly from the works of the nine legends featured on the site.
