In Honda's new cute spot for the Accord, the restyled car reignites a little boy's passion for cars many years later.
The 60-second spot, directed by Arts & Sciences' Michael Spiccia for RPA, opens with a little kid playing with his dinky toy autos, watching his dad wash the car and sleeping in a car-shaped bed.
As an older kid, he's racing a remote controlled car, and as a teen he's driving a go-kart around a track. In each scenario, the viewer also sees his fantasies, in which his cars come alive at night, his dad cleans a racing car, or he's in an exciting police chase. Suddenly we cut to the boy as an adult stuck in traffic, looking bored and unenthusiastic. But as he glimpses the Accord, his fantasies spring back into life.
The commercial aired first during this weekend's college football game on ESPN, and will also be promoted in social media.
