James Franco Narrowly Escapes Death (in This Verizon Wireless Droid Turbo Ad)

McGarryBowen New York Seeded This Campaign With Oblique YouTube Videos

To launch the Motorola Droid Turbo, Verizon Wireless teamed up with McGarryBowen New York for this new ad starring James Franco. For roughly half of the 60-second spot, the "Spring Breakers" actor is in free-fall (shown in slow-mo), having just stumbled off the roof of a skyscraper. Fortunately, he's got his speedy Droid Turbo with him, which helps him make efficient use of his, uh, down time (the soundtrack -- Bahamas' "All the Time" -- is a nice touch) and ultimately save himself. If you follow @JamesFrancoTV, you may have already seen a few oblique teasers -- "James Franco, the Bike Phantom," "James Franco Inhales His Coffee" and "James Franco Is a Folding Machine" -- over the past couple of days. The unifying theme between those YouTube videos and the TV commercial above: James Franco is crazy fast, just like his Droid Turbo.
