During last night's NBA Finals game, Apple debuted a stunning new spot in its "Shot on iPhone campaign," narrated by the late astronomer Carl Sagan. And, given recent events on climate change, it seemed to have something of a political message.
As with the campaign's well-known outdoor ads, the film features imagery of stunning landscapes from around the world sourced from iPhone users. As we watch the montage of videos, Sagan reads from his book "Pale Blue Dot -- A Vision of the Human Future in Space." His words, pleading with us to look after the Earth and "cherish the only home we've ever known," seem particularly pertinent in the wake of Donald Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate agreement last week.
