How do you sell Schering-Plough's Claritin (or Clarityne, as it's called in this market) in China? With a little Monty Pythonesque sight gag, at least in these POP posters from Euro RSCG Life. The object is simply to break through the clutter in Shanghai drugstores, says ECD Eddie Wong. "There's no specific cultural or geographical reason for choosing this particular mix of statuary," he says. "We just wanted visuals that everyone is familiar with." As for the sheer silliness of it, at least by Western drug marketing standards, "isn't advertising supposed to be entertaining?" he asks. "Humor is probably the best cure for allergies, anyway."
