The Hero of This Ad Is Never Alone, But Why?
Spot for Norway's Propr Urges You to Dump Your Real Estate Agent
Editor's Pick
We've seen a few films recently in which the protagonist just can't escape from someone who literally, or figuratively, clings on to them (see the hilarious music video from Fabich as the most recent example.)
In this ad from Norway, a similar idea plays out -- a man can't escape his irritating besuited shadow, wherever he goes. This guy is there while he's brushing his teeth, eating in a restaurant, in a cinema, hiking in a forest, even in the bath and on the toilet. When he meets a woman in a bar, she, too seems to be dogged by a woman in a suit, and both are forced to share their drinks and more. But who are these creepy people? (He also seems to be giving the guy half his money at the ATM, so that could be a clue.)
It's only at the end, when he finally loses the guy on the train, that we find out. The ad, for real estate app Propr.no, encourages people to "lose" their real estate agent and go it alone so as not to be taken advantage of.
The spot, by Anorak Oslo, was directed by Bacon duo Matias & Mathias and is set to a rather haunting soundtrack, "Train Song" by folk singer Vashti Bunyan.
