Creatives do their best thinking above the clouds, says EVA Air

MullenLowe send three artists on a trip in the carrier's first North American campaign

Airline amenities have been on the decline across the board, so these days carriers tend to tout tangible benefits like low prices or seats you can sleep in. The notion of "togetherness" gets a lot of play with travel brands, too.

But a new campaign from EVA Air is pushing time in the sky as the latest place to get away from it all and think. Where better to space out and let the creative juices flow than in the stratosphere? According to the company, 1 in 4 travelers says they have their best ideas in the air.

To demonstrate the point, the airline and agency MullenLowe sent three creatives to Taipei, Taiwan, where EVA Air is based. Landscape designer Lily Kwong, new media artist Zach Lieberman and illustrator Llew Mejia begin their projects in a cabin at 40,000 feet before bringing them to life on the ground once they land.

Spots featuring the trio began running this week. It's the first North American ad campaign for EVA Air, Taiwan's second-largest air carrier.
