The evocative seas, skies and backgrounds in Michael Muller's work for Airwalk's new "Extreme Locations" campaign may suggest Photoshop finesse, but the fact is he got some really extreme locations extremely in-camera. "The name of the campaign is no joke," says Muller. "We shot in Death Valley, L.A.'s Chinatown and the middle of the Pacific, all of which turned out to be extreme and surreal. We sometimes shot guerrilla style on the back of WaveRunners using lighting rigs on the chase runner and natural available light. The project was super spontaneous and harmonious at the same time.
