180LA and Expedia give travel an emotional feel, with "Find Your Understanding," a short film shot by Eliot Rausch that chronicles a father's journey (both real and emotional) as he comes to terms with his daughter's same-sex marriage.
Artie Goldstein, the father, was surprised one afternoon when Nikki Weiss, his daughter Jill's girlfriend, asked for Jill's hand in marriage. Artie always thought she would have a different kind of wedding -- and the film shows his emotional journey that sees him gaining acceptance of his daughter's choices, and traveling to Malibu for the wedding.
The film, shot using real footage, is part of Expedia's "Find Yours"campaign, which is a series of stories that put a human face on travel.
Expedia has been a vocal supporter of LGBT rights--and travel. It has an LGBT travel store and has also made a statement supporting marriage equality legislation in the state of Washington, home of the company's headquarters.
