Turkish Airlines Now 'Flies' to Gotham and Metropolis
Integrated Campaign Is a Tie-Up With 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'
Feb 09, 2016
During the Super Bowl, amidst the slew of movie marketing pushes, viewers may have seen that somehow, the upcoming film "Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice" found its way into a spot for Turkish Airlines. What looked like a typical, almost generic travel-themed spot for the flyer showcased a surprising new destination -- the city of Gotham, promoted by none other than Bruce Wayne himself (played by new Batman actor Ben Affleck, of course). Another ad also showed that it's now flying to Metropolis -- with the blessing of Lex Luthor (played by Jesse Eisenberg).
The spots are part of an integrated campaign created out of CP&B London. The films direct viewers to either TurkishAirlines.com/Gotham or TurkishAirlines.com/Metropolis, where they can "book" flights to the fictional cities and find more information on their hotspots. The site will also host Time Out Guides for each destination, hard copies of which will be distributed to moviegoers and passengers at select venues.
Other parts of the campaign included a 777 Turkish Airlines plane wrapped in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" imagery. Passengers will receive movie-themed amenity kits, and planes will feature film-themed menu items.
