Frankie Muniz, finally, is not in the middle.

The actor, who rose to fame as a 14-year-old playing the titular middle child in the Fox sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle,” stars in the first Tombras campaign for Spirit Airlines. In the 30-second spot above, he marvels at the “Go Comfy” option on Spirit flights, where the middle seat is blocked off, giving window and aisle passengers more room.

The simple, appealing pitch comes as Spirit has introduced a variety of new offerings on its flights. Along with the tiered seating, Spirit now offers paid perks like onboard snacks, priority check-in and boarding and WiFi. The campaign also includes a social media giveaway featuring 10 pairs of Go Comfy tickets.

Tombras was named AOR for Spirit earlier this year.

“We’ve received great feedback from guests who have experienced Spirit’s new travel options, and we’re excited to launch this ad with Frankie Muniz to reach even more travelers about our recent enhancements,” said Rana Ghosh, senior VP and chief transformation officer at Spirit. “This creative is part of our continued investment in telling our story and generating more awareness about the great products and value that Spirit offers.”

“The ad is a fun way to help travelers learn about Spirit’s new enhancements and finally gets me upgraded from Frankie in the middle to Frankie by the window or aisle,” added Muniz.
